I still haven't found what I'm looking for... |
...but in the meantime, I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good. |
I really want to go vegan again. It’s something I’ve been considering for a long time, because whenever I opted for veganism in the past, I always felt so…clean.
Like my skin would clear up, I would sleep better, and my caffeine dependency would decrease dramatically. The first week or so is the hardest part, because you’re learning how to fill up on plant foods and fighting constant cravings, but once you get over that part, it’s the best.
My parents are staunchly against the idea though, and I just had yet another exhausting fight with my Mom about the topic of- what else- protein. UGH :( It’s really not that difficult to get sufficient protein from plant sources, but I will never get through to them.
Can’t wait to live by myself again so i can restart a vegan diet! Or a vegetarian one, at the very least.
It’s great to see that the vegan trend is slowly catching on here :) South Indian staples are largely vegan; such as rasam, sambhar, chappatis, chutney, dosas, idlis, rice etc. If only my Mom wasn’t so fixated on the idea that animal protein trumps all… I miss being vegan!

Lentil salads are the best!
Dinner- oatmeal with soymilk, and a cup of peach-citrus tea.
Why is it that breakfast foods always taste better at night?
Lemonade, soymilk, egg sandwiches and fruit= winning Sunday dinner! :D
Veg biryani with carrots, potatoes, mushrooms, and cilantro.
Yes, I used the Mother’s Recipe mix, not gonna lie, but it’s super legit (has little elaichis and black peppercorns and everything!).
This dinner almost makes me feel like I’m back home :) Yay for spicy Indian comfort food!
